How to Create a HAR File

When troubleshooting issues, it might be necessary to create a HAR (HTTP Archive) file for further analysis and working with Cisco TAC.

For Chrome, do the following:

  1. Before navigating to the page in question, select the options or Menu button in your browser

  2. Select More tools | Developer Tools

  3. Select Network across the top

  4. Check the box for Preserve log

  5. Ensure the record button is red (if red, it is recording - if grey, it is not recording)

  6. Now proceed to replicate the issue in question, such as logging in or accessing a specific page or site

  7. Once replicated, right click any request under the Name column in the Network log, and click Save all as HAR with Content

  8. Save the file and send to support or TAC as needed.
